Frequently asked Questions

How do I reclaim VAT from UK Supplier?

Huelin-Renouf does not have the authority or the ability to refund any VAT paid on goods exported to the Channel Islands via their service as this is a contract between the consignor/shipper and the consignee/receiver.

There are steps that can be taken to ensure that your supplier will refund VAT paid.

Prior to shipment fully complete one of our shipping/consignment notes along with a copy sales invoice, (an incorrect declaration on the paperwork i.e. weight/value/description may result in the UK VAT office not recognizing the Certificate of Shipment).

Within four weeks of export to the Channel Islands Huelin-Renouf automatically produce a Certificate of Shipment which is posted to the consignor/shipper indicated on the shipping/consignment note. This is proof that the goods have been exported to the Channel Islands and are not subject to UK VAT. Once the supplier has a copy of the Certificate of Shipment your VAT should be refunded.
